Congratulations to Olivia Grolnic and Jace Love for being Butler High School's Athletes of the Week!!Olivia is a four year varsity starter that plays center back. Her strengths are her speed, one on one defending ability, and understanding of defensive principles. She is composed under pressure and is able to make the pass to the midfielders’ feet. When given the opportunity, she enjoys making runs out of the back to get involved in the attack. Olivia has had a career total of 10 goals and 6 assists. Next year, Olivia will be attending Thomas More to continue her soccer career. Olivia is another student-athlete getting it done on the field as well as in the classroom where she takes a college preparatory schedule including AP and CCP classes. The Aviators are heavy into OHSAA Championship competition this week with our boys and girls soccer teams hosting at Butler while our volleyball and cross country teams are on the road. This Friday we celebrate our seniors (marching band, color guard, kickline, tennis, cross country, golf, cheerleading and football) at our last regular season football game. This past weekend our Girls Cross Country Team took runner-up at the OHSAA District Championships. Both the boys and girls teams qualified to the Regional Championships this week. Schedules can change very rapidly this week as next rounds of are later in the week. Our Middle School teams have concluded their seasons this past week. Congratulation to our 7th grade volleyball team as they are the 2025 MVL Champions!! Congratulations to Bryn and Anderson for being Morton Middle School's Athletes of the Week!!Bryn is a fierce competitor on the volleyball court. She’s committed to playing defense with all her heart every play whether it’s practice or a game, and her determination is a huge asset to our 7th grade volleyball team. Bryn had dramatically improved her serve this year and is a focused, steady passer for the team. Way to go Bryn, Keep Working Hard!!Anderson is a first year football player who displayed a willingness to put his team's needs first. He was tasked with learning several positions on the field and always responded with 100% effort. Anderson is a hard-working student-athlete who shows true leadership qualities on and off the field. Congratulations to Niko for being Butler Athletics Staff Member of the Week. Niko is a German Shepherd who works alongside one of our school safety officers to help keep our schools safe and drug-free. Niko is highly trained, but also friendly, calm and experienced around children and adults. While his primary role is to help detect the presence of drugs, he's also here to build positive relationships with staff and students, primarily at the high school. Thank you for all your hard work Niko making Butler safe and bringing joy to our lives, keep up the great work!!

We celebrated our Girls Bowling State Champions during a BHS pep assembly in their honor. Thanks to City of Vandalia and Butler Township officials for joining us! The team was also featured in the Dayton Daily News. This great achievement marks the second team state championship title in school history. Our other team state title belongs to the 2019 Boys Bowling team!#WeareAviators

Congratulations to Austin Kuhns, Brendan Swinderman, Alex Hale, Korey Snyder, Dayne Schlageter and Brodie Schlageter for qualifying for the State Championships. This past weekend the Boys placed 10th in the Southwest District leading the Dayton Area Schools. Austin Kuhns, Brendan Swinderman, Alex Hale and Korey Snyder qualified for the 200 Medley Relay with an 8th place finish at 1:38.14 Dayne Schlagetter, Brodie Schlagetter, Austin Kuhns and Korey Snyder qualified for the 200 Free Relay with a 5th place finish at 1:27.30Korey Snyder also qualified for the State Championships in the 50 Freestyle with a 12th place district finish at 21.60Brendan Swinderman also qualified for the State Championships in the 100 Breaststroke with a 13th place district finish at 59.80Congratulations Butler Swim - Good Luck at State!!!
