Butler Tennis Players Named All GWOC

Morgan Jackson has been named All GWOC North 1st Team.  Denish Patel also received All GWOC North 2nd Team honors. The two paired up to play doubles together at the Sectional tournament at Troy and placed 2nd.  The duo will play in the District tournament Thursday, May 19 at Centerville High School at 1 p.m.

Butler Claims GWOC North All Sport Trophy

For the 7th time in 15 years, Butler High School has claimed the GWOC North All Sport Trophy.   Schools earn points in the 22 GWOC sports in the three seasons. The GWOC was started in the 2001-2002 school year.   Butler’s previous wins came in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2010.

Boys’ Tennis Beats Trotwood, Heads to GWOC

Butler boys’ tennis improved its record to 6-10 with a 4-1 victory over Trotwood. Morgan Jackson was a winner at first singles, winning 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.  At second singles, Denish Patel won for the Aviators, 6-1, 6-1.  Troy Luken also won for Butler, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. Boys’ Tennis Beats Miamisburg Thanks to Strong Singles Play

The boys’ tennis team beat Miamisburg Tuesday, April 5 with the help of strong play by their singles players. At first singles, Morgan Jackson beat Casey Reazin 6-2, 6-3.  Denish Patel, second singles, beat Trey Singleton 6-3, 6-0 and Troy Luken, third singles, beat Cole Golumbiewski in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Boys’ Tennis Loses Close Match 3-2

Senior Denish Patel and sophomore Troy Luken were winners at Monday’s boys’ varsity tennis match versus Springfield Shawnee. Patel won his match 6-2, 6-1.  Luken picked up the win in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
