Congratulations to Laila Neely and Bennett Bardonaro for being this week's Butler Athletics Athlete of the Week.  

Laila is a senior, libero for the Butler Volleyball team. Throughout her career as a Lady Aviators, Laila has demonstrated great leadership, a work-ethic that is second to none, and a competitive fire that has led the Aviators back to the top in the MVL. Laila’s determination and selflessness are on full display each time she steps on the court as she makes difficult plays look easy and effortless. Laila is currently in the top 5 in the MVL for total digs and passing points. Laila is tied as one of the leaders for Butler with 11 aces this season so far too. Laila currently holds the record at Butler for most digs in a season with 443 digs recorded last season. Laila is an impactful player that makes a difference on and off the court! Congratulations Laila, Keep Working Hard!!

Bennett is as dominate force in the MVL. He has shown leadership in organizing practice rounds for the team and consistently shows up at the top of the leader board in every event. Currently 3rd on scoring average with 37.8 as a sophomore. Bennett not only gets it done on the course but an outstanding student as well, another great example of STUDENT-athlete. Congratulation Bennett, Keep Working Hard!!!
