News · Another Sweep for Girls’ Volleyball

The Butler varsity girls’ volleyball team brought home another win Tuesday, Oct. 10. The team traveled to Sidney High School where they defeated the Yellow Jackets in just three sets; 25-21, 25-13 and 25-21.
“We wanted to prove that we’re a much better team now compared to the beginning of the season, and with this sweep, I think we made a strong statement,” Head Coach Caitlin Shumaker said.
This sweep puts the Aviators at 8-6 in GWOC play and 11-9 overall.
“Grace Cope had one of her best games yet, and the entire team played at their highest level. It was so much fun to watch the team play with intensity, heart, and discipline” Shumaker said.
Cope ended the night with a .567 kills percentage, 18 kills, and three aces.
Also, adding to the Aviators win was Grace Swarts with 31 assists, Karli Kercher with two digs and Alyssa Burley and Sarah Droesch each with four blocks.
The girls play tonight, Oct. 11, at Trotwood-Madison. Good luck ladies!
