News · Girls’ Volleyball Moves to 9-8 With Win Over Piqua

Varsity girls’ volleyball hosted the Piqua Indians Wednesday, Sept. 27.  The Aviators defeated the Indians in four sets; 25-23, 25-17, 23-25, 25-18.

“It feels great to get a win in four sets against a team that beat us earlier this season,” Head Coach Caitlin Shumaker said.

Grace Cope ended the night with 12 kills, two aces, and six blocks.  Grace Swarts had 43 assists and Sarah Drokesch seven blocks.  Willow Knight ended the night with 24 digs.

“Our play tonight showcased the hard work that the team has been putting into practice. We know we’ve been improving steadily, but it’s encouraging to get a win to reinforce that,” Shumaker said.

The Aviators move to 9-8 overall and 6-5 in conference play.  Their next game is Tuesday, Oct. 3 at Greenville.
