News · Girls Volleyball Travels Across the Dam


The varsity girls’ volleyball team traveled across the Dam Monday, Sept. 25 to face-off with the Northmont Thunderbolts.  The Aviators brought home the win after 5 tough sets; 25-22, 19-25, 17-25, 25-20, 15-12.

“This was a great win for our team.  Being able to beat your biggest rival is huge for momentum going forward,” Head Coach Caitlin Shumaker said.

Sarah Droesch ended the night with a .318 high kills percentage, while Victoria Theobald ended with 23 high digs.

Also, contributing to the Aviator win was Grace Cope with 17 kills and five blocks and Grace Swarts with 41 assists and three aces.

“I am proud of their effort and that they continue to work to get better each day.  We have a big GWOC North matchup at home Wednesday, Sept. 27, and we are going to need to play well again to win” Shumaker said.
