News · Aviators Win in Three


The varsity girls’ volleyball team hosted the Xenia Buccaneers, Thursday, Sept. 21.  The Aviators beat the Buccaneers in three sets; 25-10, 25-14 and 25-17.

“It was good to get our fourth straight win tonight against a conference opponent,” Head Coach Caitlin Shumaker said.

Grace Cope finished the night with a high kill percentage of .685, 14 kills, two high blocks and two aces.

Also, contributing to the win was Mackenzie Duncan with a .462 kill percentage, Grace Swarts with 28 assists, Nakita Brown with two aces, Victoria Theobald with 17 digs and Swartz and Willow Knight each with two blocks.

The Aviators next game is Saturday, Sept. 23 at Chaminade Julienne High School at 12:00 p.m.

“Our schedule is going to get a little tougher over the next couple of weeks, so we need to continue to work hard and get better each day,” Shumaker said.
